Why We Record

Transparency is core to how K9 Optima trains. We film our sessions so clients can see exactly how we work — no hidden methods, no closed doors. Recordings serve three purposes: education, helping other dog owners and trainers learn from real cases, including severe aggression and reactivity work that is rarely shown publicly; accountability, documenting each dog’s behavior and progress so results speak for themselves; and client value, letting you revisit your own sessions and see your dog’s transformation over time. Because the dogs we work with are often the ones other trainers turn away, sharing this footage responsibly helps more dogs get help.

Notice of Recording

K9 Optima (“Company”) records its training sessions on video and audio, including in-person, board-and-train, and virtual sessions. By purchasing, booking, or attending a session, you acknowledge and agree to this Release on behalf of yourself, your dog(s), and any minor or guest you bring to a session.

Consent to Record

You expressly consent to being recorded on video, audio, and photograph during sessions — including your voice, image, likeness, and your dog(s) — for the purposes described above and any other lawful purpose. Consistent with California Penal Code §632, this constitutes your consent to the recording of any conversation occurring during a session. If you do not consent, you must notify Company in writing at [email protected] before your session; Company will make reasonable efforts to exclude you from recordings or, at its discretion, decline to provide recorded services.

Ownership

All recordings, photographs, and other media captured during sessions (“Media”) are the sole and exclusive property of Company, including all copyright and other intellectual-property rights, from the moment of creation. You acquire no ownership or approval rights in any Media.

Grant of Rights

You grant Company and its assigns the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to use, reproduce, edit, adapt, publish, distribute, and publicly display the Media — including your name, voice, image, and likeness and those of your dog(s) — in any medium now known or later developed, for any lawful purpose, including advertising, marketing, social media, educational content, and paid products. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you waive any claims arising from such use, including under California Civil Code §3344 and any right of publicity, privacy, or defamation claim based on authorized use, and you waive any right to inspect or approve the Media or to receive compensation or royalties.

No Obligation

Company is not obligated to use any Media or to provide you copies of recordings unless included in your purchased program.

Governing Law

This Release is governed by the laws of the State of California. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder remains in full effect.

By purchasing or booking a session, checking the agreement box at checkout, or signing an intake form referencing this Release, you confirm you have read, understood, and voluntarily agree to this Filming & Media Release.
